This 5-day tour focuses on the cultural highlights of Sri Lanka, including the ancient cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, the Dambulla Cave Temples, and the Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
This tour includes:
Arrive at Colombo International Airport (CMB) and transfer to your hotel in Anuradhapura. In the evening, visit the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, one of the largest and most sacred Buddhist stupas in the world.
Visit the ancient city of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the many ruins of temples, palaces, and other structures, including the Jetavanarama Stupa, the Abhayagiri Monastery, and the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree.
Transfer to Polonnaruwa, another ancient city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Gal Vihara, a complex of four massive rock-cut statues of Buddha, and the Vatadage, a circular relic house.
Visit the Dambulla Cave Temples, a complex of five cave temples containing over 150 Buddha statues and murals. In the afternoon, transfer to Sigiriya.
Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Climb the 1,200 steps to the top of the rock for stunning views of the surrounding countryside. In the afternoon, transfer back to Colombo and depart from CMB.
